Katrien Botha (Dippenaar) – 5 April 2014

Katrien was to be wed in the wood and as such wanted to look like a forest fairy. She had harboured dreams of wearing a vintage gown, with a selection of lovely lace, her beautiful blonde hair adorned with a crown of flowers and finally,a pair leather flats.

She had gathered a selection of images that appealed to her – each one reflective of her personality – incomparable, imaginative and inspired.

The skirt of her antique cream coloured dress was fashioned from a double layer of embroidered lace. The front of the dress was made up of unique pieces of lace trimmings and embellished with beautiful antiquated buttons. What made this dress incredibly special is that these buttons were Katrien’s Granny’s – such a beautiful sentiment to incorporate that into her dress. The back of the top was fashioned from embroidered lace.

Unique and unpretentious, Katrien’s dress was such a beautiful mirror of her graceful persona – an inimitable beauty that only nature can bestow.
