Mareli Basson (Botha) – 5 April 2014

Maya Angelou wrote a poem pinned Beautiful Woman. When I read this Mareli came to mind and I reserved these words especially for her.

It reads:

It’s in the arch of my back,

The sun of my smile,

The ride of my breasts,

The grace of my style.

I’m a woman

Phenomenally.

Phenomenal woman,

That’s me.

Mareli surely looked phenomenal on her big day! She exudes such boundless grace and beauty. She does not invoke the existence of a princess, but rather that of a queen.

Mareli wanted her dress to be comfortable – she wanted to mingle with her loved ones without continuously tugging or adjusting her gown. She also wanted her dress to highlight her best attributes. I too firmly believe that if you feel beautiful, you will look beautiful!

Her off-white dress was fashioned from soft silk chiffon. The ruched bodice had beautifully embroidered and beaded detail and showcased a modest v-neck in front, with a lower cut open back. The dropped waist gave way to layered fabric – creating a soft and streamlined appearance.

Gorgeous!
